Healing Abutments

(Healing) abutment represents a variety of temporary abutment, which is screwed in the implant after its plunging into the bone in order to impart required line to thesoft tissues of the gum and form a seat for the dental crown for a period of about four weeks. The height and diameter of the healing abutment are selected individually depending on the installation site. After the expiry of the time of implant survival, a healing abutment is demounted followed by mounting of the permanent abutment and the crown of the dental prosthesis.
.The healing implants as a rule are installed on the lateral sides of the tooth range wherein the external aesthetics is not so important. In order to form thegum line, the temporary dental crowns are often installed in the anterior tooth range wherein the esthetic aspects are important.
