Steam Cleaning
When a blank of future medical product comes off the metal-cutting machine, such residues of manufacturing contaminants as the particles of chippings along with a lubricant coolant remain on it. We (the ABM Technology Medical Product Plant) manufacture neither carpenter’s nails nor furniture bolts and fasteners, but the medical purpose products mainly of the prosthetic nature even if they are sometimes referred to as the wires, nails, screws or bolts. That is why, the products having come off the machine cannot be admitted to further stages of treatment in such contaminated state in the manufacturing conditions of the ABM Technology Medical Product Plant. The absolute sanitary conditions at all stages of our manufacturing is a precondition and one of the important constituents of a high quality of our final production.
After manufacturing on the metal-cutting machines, the blanks of our medical products mandatory undergo a stage of primary washing (cleaning) wherein they are completely cleaned of all acquired manufacturing contaminants. But what is important is that at the ABM Technology Medical Product Plant, such cleaning is carried out not only with the use of washing techniq0ue, but using a steam cleaning.
The fact is that the cleaning of metal and even composite products with a blast of hot steam under high pressure gives much the best result than classic washing with washing solutions or detergents. Firstly, a steam is supplied at a temperature of 130 °C and reaches the smallest grooves, recesses, holes, and even capillaries wherein washing liquid just cannot penetrate by limit to soaking (hydrophylic and hydrophobic properties) Secondly, after steam cleaning, the product surface is freed from the residues of washing substances and detergents, in their turn, being regarded as the contaminants in conditions of medical manufacturing. In addition, a steam cleaning method makes it possible to mechanize the cleaning process of small-sized products and bring the productive capacity of this manufacturing area to conformity with the requirements of high-volume manufacturing.
In the manufacturing conditions of the ABM Technology Medical Product Plant, a steam cleaning is carried out in special commercial grade steam generating units (steamers). Such equipment not simply makes possible, but guarantees the highest quality of treatment (cleaning). And only after steam washing in such steam generating unit, turned on and milled blanks of our medical products come in the next manufacturing areas to undergo further treatment.
