The importance of design with respect to the products of surgical implantology slightly differs from the conventional one. This is hardly always esthetics, being rather the application of construction prosthetic suprastructure or its separate components to a typical (or even particular) installation site with its typical (individual peculiarities).

In the implantology, the determination of product design is the initial and critical stage of its designing. Within this framework, the work of designers of the Design Department at the ABM Technology Medical Product Plant is very similar to an architect’s work. Proceeding from the landscape conditions, it is he who determines the structure of future building while a building engineer already seeks for the ways of its implementation.

In the implantology, it goes something like this – proceeding from the specific conditions of installation site and the Customer’s wishes (as to the applicable materials and appearance), a designer forms an idea, draws the variant of its implementation, and a design engineer appreciates and selects capabilities for its realization.

To fulfil their functions, the designers of the ABM Technology Medical Product Plant not only have profound knowledge of the general structure and properties of bone, mucous membrane of muscle tissue at the installation sites of prosthetic suprastructures, but also work closely with the consulting physicians, examine X-ray images and analyses in order to get a clear picture of the individual peculiarities of the implant installation sites. In the course of further design engineering, our designers continue actively interact with the design engineers helping them to correct design (construction) of the medical product depending on the specific conditions, properties of applicable materials, and the manufacturing capabilities.

The Construction Design Office of the ABM Technology Medical Product Plant performs tasks not only of medical product design engineering, but also the ones relating to the development of technological procedure for their manufacturing. The specialists develop construction of dental implants, their prosthetic components, implants for other areas of surgery, medical instruments, elaborate their geometry on the assumption that:

• to make them maximally functional, suitable and biologically compatible (non-incompatible) with the living tissues of the human body;

• to guarantee structural strength of prosthetic product in all conceivable circumstances of its interaction with the biological body and ambient medium;

• maximally lighten the work of doctors, provide comfortable access for their surgical instruments to all necessary points of suprastructure constructions;

• adapt the Customers’ and Consumers’ needs to the technological capabilities of our manufacturing;

• to make technological procedure maximally economical in the expenses and time saving

In a complex and multiple-stage process for preparation of the manufacturing of the ABM Technology Medical Product Plant the final word rests with our programmers. They are the ones who translate the ideas and concepts of the designers and the design engineers into the machine language, convert them into error-free operating program of high-precision CNC machines. According to the results of their operation, the process of medical product manufacturing on CNC machines takes place in automatic mode with full realization or their capacity in machining accuracy and rate with the minimal influence of human factor on the quality of product manufacturing.
