After designing of the prosthetic suprastructure and its constituent parts – the implant, prosthetic components - in our Design Engineering Bureau, the next stage is their “in-metal” manufacturing. Our manufacturing departments having all necessary – relevant personnel qualification, work experience, machinery, tools and materials - deal with this question.
BT1-0 (Grade 4) commercially pure (medical) titanium manufactured by the famous German ZAPP GmbH is the base material used in the work of our ABM Technology Medical Product Plant. This constructional material gained widespread use in the prosthetic surgery at present being an accepted standard in the branch. In its turn, the quality of pure medical titanium manufactured by ZAPP GmbH has gained wide acceptance among the prosthetic surgeons of the best specialized clinics in Europe. However, our technological capabilities make it possible to use blanks made of other medical metals and their alloys too.
To obtain titanium blanks of “semi-finished products” of designed medical products, the state-of-the-art high-precision S206 CNC machines manufactured by Tsugami Precision Co., which is the famous Japanese machine-tool company, are used at our enterprise. The automatic metal-cutting machines of this model are rather multipurpose making it possible to perform the entire package of basic metal-processing operations (lathe turning, screw-cutting operations, milling, drilling, and grinding), which can be used when manufacturing of medical products of metal. These products are distinguished by a high (precision) operational accuracy and make it possible to manufacture products accurate to the micron fractures. The reject rate of these machines is very low, this is because all operations are performed automatically according to the program wherein the role of human factor is minimized.
The qualification of our operating personnel also deserves all the praise; our machine operators took a long training under the guidance of Japanese specialists, and at present, they have a rich and versatile experience in performance of the most complicated manufacturing tasks.
